Jake and Katherine’s Story:

Jake and Katherine met July 14, 2023, at a Phish concert in Alpharetta, GA. Katherine flew to Atlanta to see three nights of Phish with two of her best friends, and now bridesmaids, Jamie Langdon and Tiffany Dedmon. Jake flew to the show on his own, excited to visit Atlanta and see Phish for the first time. After the show, Tiffany (a social butterfly and true connector) met Jake and introduced him to the crew. Employing typical southern hospitality, Katherine invited Jake, who was without a car and visiting a new city on his own, to go out with them in Atlanta after the show. The group became fast friends and decided to join forces for the following two nights of Phish shows. After the first two nights of Katherine thinking Jake was only a new guy friend from Massachusetts, his charm was impossible to ignore by night three. After the weekend together and a couple weeks of getting to know each other more through regular texting, Jake invited Katherine to travel north to see Billy Strings in Portland, Maine and two more Phish concerts the following nights in New York City. The sparks were flying and so were they–Jake and Katherine then began a year of traveling to see each other and dating long distance between Danvers, MA and Little Rock, AR. In June of 2024, Katherine moved to Massachusetts to begin the next chapter of their relationship--sharing a single bathroom! The two made it work, and Jake proposed in Washington DC on a trip with Katherine's parents, Sandra and Jim Purcell. The proposal date was July 14, 2025, exactly two years after their fated meeting in Atlanta.
